Does your target audience often use smartphones or tablets to view the web? Does your website display poorly in a mobile web browser, or would you change the way your content is organized for a mobile viewer? If you answered yes, you may want to consider working with us to develop a mobile solution.
The simplest and least expensive way to expose your website’s content to your mobile audience is to simply provide an alternate layout for mobile users. With this option, we can move elements around, resize them, and/or remove unwanted elements when your site is viewed on a device with a smaller screen. An alternate layout is a good solution if you want to display the same content to mobile users, while formatting it to fit their screens.
If your website is built in a newer content management system, it’s possible for us to create a separate template for it that displays on smartphones and tablets. We’ll go through the same process for Creating a Website as for a normal site, and there will be an additional charge for the mobile version of your site. This type of alternate website is a good solution if you need to display a significantly different website to mobile users.
Application Programming Interface
An API is a more complex way to grant access to your information, intended to allow programmers to use your content in their own websites and mobile applications. This is a good solution to use if your website has a lot of categorized information that may be useful to a very broad audience.
Smartphone applications are the most expensive and complex way to reach a mobile audience. Because each mobile platform requires a separate program, a single "mobile application" effort typically involves several different projects, each with their own costs and difficulties. This is a good solution for large-budget projects that want to provide a specific, single-purpose tool for free to the general public.
